Joint Meeting of the German, Danish and Finnish Societies for Matrix Biology with contributions from Sweden and Belgium

It is with great excitement that we invite you to the Annual Meeting of the German Society for Matrix Biology, which will be held as a joint event with the contributions of Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Belgium. The meeting will take place at the Otto-Krayer-Haus in the vibrant and picturesque city of Freiburg im Breisgau from March 26th-28th, 2025.

Freiburg, known for its captivating blend of medieval architecture, including its iconic Gothic cathedral and the charming cobblestone streets of its old town, offers a perfect backdrop for this international gathering. Nestled in the heart of the Black Forest, the city’s natural beauty and cultural richness create an inspiring atmosphere for networking, collaboration, and scientific discovery. This joint event promises to be a unique opportunity to not only advance matrix biology but also foster meaningful cross-border collaborations between German, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, and Belgian researchers. In addition to the main event, a pre-meeting for early career researchers will be held just prior to the main meeting. It’s an ideal platform for fostering collaboration, gaining visibility, and building confidence ahead of the larger conference.

Conference Dinner is already included in the registration fee! Definition of ‘Junior’: students and young researchers up to 5 years after completion of their PhD.

The young researcher pre-meeting includes a social evening event on March 25 and a scientific morning session on March 26. This pre-meeting is open for juniors and those who feel like juniors.

Please ensure to complete payment at the payment site. Registration is only accepted after successful payment. It will take 2-14 days to confirm payment with SEPA. You will receive the PDF of the post-payment invoice once payment is confirmed.

We highly recommend that researchers from countries without a national matrix biology society consider joining the ISMB.

All submitted abstracts are accepted for poster presentation. In addition, short oral presentations (10 min + 5 min discussion) will be selected from the submitted abstracts by a scientific committee.
